Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care is a proven, natural, drug-free therapy used to relieve pain and inflammation, promote healing and restore range of motion. The 24 vertebrae that make up the spinal column support the body, and protect the primary channels of the delicate nervous system.

Chiropractic care addresses misalignment of the spine – also known as subluxation. Proper alignment of the spine is vital for optimal wellness.

Chiropractic BioPhysics®
(CBP®) Adjusting Technique

Biophysics is a highly advanced technique that restores proper spinal alignment, corrects posture and eliminates spinal curves that may affect biological functions. CBP goes a step beyond correcting alignment to identify root causes using biology, physiology, physics, geometry and anatomy.

NeuroMechanical System Instrument Adjusting Technique

This scientifically based chiropractic technique is used to restore the body's balance and function. This treatment modality employs gentle “tapping” instruments that restore spinal alignment without the traditional “twisting and popping”. It’s a great choice certain health or spinal issues, or those who simply prefer it – and has been found to be equally effective.

Webster Chiropractic Technique

The late Larry Webster, D.C., Founder of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), developed a technique that enables chiropractors to restore balance to a pregnant woman's pelvis. This chiropractic technique is a wonderful choice for prenatal care. It is a safe and effective treatment for pregnant women to help them cope with the ever-changing demands on the body. The Webster technique restores neuro and biomechanical function of the pelvis, and helps reduce symptoms associated with stress on the sacral joint. Sacral misalignment may cause a tightening or torsion of certain pelvic muscles. Relieving this tension in the muscles and ligaments reduces stress on the spine and the uterus, and helps both mom and baby assume the best possible position in advance of the birthing process.

Diversified Technique

The Diversified Technique is considered the most general chiropractic manipulative technique and is differentiated from others because its objective is to restore proper movement and alignment of spine. This form of spinal manipulation consists of a short, fast force applied to specific joints to instill motion, stretch surrounding muscles and stimulate the nervous system. Diversified adjustments use a specific line of manual thrust that goes deep into the joint. This corrects mechanical distortions of the spine or joint within the joint cavity, and also stretches the soft tissue, which may have formed around the misaligned joint. By adjusting the spine or joint to restore its proper position, the fluids and tissue move more freely, easing pain and discomfort and restoring mobility. There are extensive research studies that prove the efficacy and safety of the chiropractic adjustment.

Acupuncture Techniques

Acupuncture improves the body’s functions and promotes the healing process by stimulating acupuncture points. It is among the oldest healing practices in the world. Research has demonstrated acupuncture’s positive affect on the nervous, endocrine and immune systems, as well as the cardiovascular and digestive systems.

At HFC, we offer traditional and needleless acupuncture therapies – both are gentle, drug-free treatment options. The most common method uses fine, sterile needles gently inserted into the skin. Acupuncture therapy helps release blocked energy in the body and promote optimal function, supporting the body’s natural healing response. Hundreds of clinical studies support the benefits of acupuncture in treating and relieving pain, stimulating the nervous system, relieving symptoms of anxiety and depression, addressing digestive issues, reducing chronic headaches and migraines, and more

Pettibon Weighting System Technique

The Pettibon Weighting System is the correcting force that causes the patient’s nervous system, righting reflexes, innate organizing energy, and spinal muscles to correct the spine and posture as they react to the purposefully placed head, shoulder and hip weights. The treatment causes the involved muscles to relax while others contract, thereby pulling and holding the upright spine and posture into alignment - using gravity.

To balance the body with the weights, the nervous system causes involved spinal muscles to relax and others to contract, thereby repositioning and correcting the spine and posture relative to gravity.
